Endometriosis

Diseases

A realistic image of a woman gently holding her lower abdomen with a pained or uncomfortable expression, symbolizing pelvic pain caused by endometriosis. The setting should be a calm bedroom or wellness clinic with soft, natural lighting. Include subtle Ayurvedic elements such as herbal medicines, essential oils, or a cup of herbal tea on a nearby table to represent natural healing. The mood should convey compassion, relief, and hope — not distress.

Understanding Amenorrhoea: Causes and Ayurvedic Treatment

Amenorrhoea is the medical term for the absence of menstrual periods in women of reproductive age. It can be primary, when menstruation does not begin by age 16, or secondary, when regular periods stop for three months or more. Though not a disease by itself, Amenorrhoea signals an underlying hormonal or metabolic imbalance that needs attention.

Ayurvedic Perspective on Amenorrhoea

In Ayurveda, Amenorrhoea is called Nashta Ritu, caused by an imbalance of the Vata and Kapha doshas, and weak digestive fire (Agni). Factors like stress, poor nutrition, excessive exercise, thyroid dysfunction, or PCOS (Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome) can disrupt the natural menstrual cycle.

Ayurveda views menstruation as a reflection of overall health  when the body’s balance is disturbed, the menstrual flow ceases.

Ayurvedic Treatment and Herbal Support

At Dhanwanthari Ayurveda, our holistic approach aims to restore the body’s balance naturally. Herbal medicines such as Ashoka (Saraca asoca), Shatavari (Asparagus racemosus), and Lodhra (Symplocos racemosa) support hormonal balance and rejuvenate the reproductive system.

Therapies like Panchakarma detox, along with customized diet, yoga, and stress-relief routines, help regulate menstruation and improve overall vitality.
